Jesse McDevitt-Irwin is a fourth year PhD student in Sustainable Development at Columbia University. He earned an M.A. in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
Jesse is interested in demographic, environmental and economic history. He uses anthropometric data to explore the intersection of economic growth, inequality and living standards. He is particularly interested in the social, economic and environmental consequences of modernization.
He also enjoys haiku's, playing the guitar and wilderness canoeing.
